Emotional Detox - Embodiment
-
Find a quiet place, sit down, and close your eyes.
-
Identify the trigger—the emotion that’s affecting you: sadness, anger, despair, boredom—whatever it may be.
-
Feel the emotion in your body. Perform a quick body scan—where exactly does this emotion sit?
-
Breathe slowly and patiently to locate the emotion in your body.
-
There it is! You’ve found it.
-
Now, ask yourself:
-
What does this emotion look like? What shape and form does it have?
-
What color does it have?
-
Is there a sound you associate with this emotion?
-
Does it move or rotate? In which direction? Or is it stuck and still?
-
-
Visualize the emotion as clearly as you can to fully identify it.
-
Now imagine taking this emotion out of your body and placing it in front of you.
-
The emotion, with all its attributes—shape, color, sound—is no longer inside you but outside. Feel that.
-
Let’s now transform this emotion into something more positive. Ask yourself:
-
What shape could it take to help you heal?
-
What color should it transform into?
-
What sound could it make?
-
How does it move now?
-
-
Visualize this new, positive emotion as clearly as possible.
-
Once you’re completely satisfied with the result, place this new emotion back into the exact spot where you removed the “old” one.
-
Feel the new emotion fully and breathe deeply 3 times to embrace it completely.
-
Open your eyes and just feel.
